Throttle body heater

Post by mjb »

Why does my car have a heater on the throttle body? I've never understood this - why bother to chuck the air through an intercooler if you're just going to heat it up again?

It is for when the ambient temp is low, prevents ice in the intake.

Older cars had the good old "point the intake at the exhaust in winter" system. :cheesy:
Remember - it only takes a few inches of water to drown a 406 don't make the same mistake I made! The V6 Exec is no more.
