Can anyone tell me what the sensors etc on the 406's bosch pump are for? I plan to be fitting a 406 engine to my 306 however the 406's pump is linked to some form of ecu, but what does it control?
And can i just ignore this stuff by not plugging it in?

Re: 1.9 td bosch pump
got this:

I think item 10 is connected to the egr system, which from other diagrams looks more complex than the 306's setup. This item 10 does something with the idle.
item 12 is a potentiometer, i'd say theres no harm in ignoring that
i've got no idea what 15 or 16 are though.
any more info?

Doesn't it tell you wherever you got that picture from? If not, look it up on servicebox.philg wrote:i've got no idea what 15 or 16 are though.

i got the pic from servicebox. The part is called 'kit' therefore i have no idea what it is. From that pic it looks as though its over the max-fuel screw on the pump.
I've been told that one of the injectors on the engine could be slightly different to the 306's injector? any truth?

bish bosh, talk to Bosch...
I've got no real understanding of what you're up to but wouldn't the 406 lump work best with the 406 ecu?
Or would that make things even more complicated?

Re: 1.9 td bosch pump
I picked up the engine there, the 406 pump is pretty different and theres a wire to injector 2 to measure how much the injector opens.
The stop solenoid shield has been cut open and a wire attached to the solenoid to bypass the immobilser.
The mechanic i bought her from assured me that the engine will run perfectly if i dont plug in the wire from the injector, ignore the potentiometer on the 'throttle arm' etc etc... however i've decided f*ck it, i'm fitting my lucas pump again, so he threw me an injector to replace my mangled one. (swirl chamber came out of the head on my engine and mangled everything.
