I've recently come by a 406 Turbo 2.0 Executive and have no idea how to fit a dump valve or if I even can to this car, would appreciate any help that anyone could give on this, also any tips about getting some extra acceleration out of it? Not too bothered about to speed.

And by the way, Hi :D

Cheers,
Dave

Never understood the obsession with an atmospherically venting blow-off valve.. just stick your head out the window and go psssshhhht every time you change gear instead

As for the other bit, i'll be installing my bleed valve in the next few days to try and lift boost a little bit.. if all goes well i'll post something up for all the other newbies like me. :cheesy:

If you can't hear the stock one, you're not driving hard enough!

Yes, it is easy to fit. You should get instructions with it.

You want better acceleration AND fit D/V?

Get a re-circ... (i'd hazzard a guess at saying the come with one already) you'll find the throttle response alot better than with an atmospheric.

Are you saying by fitting an atmospheric dump valve i will lose throttle response and acceleration?

Actually I find throttle response better for fast acceleration and gear change, if your driving style is Grandad style you won't notice any difference between D/V and standard recirc valve.
But if you are like me and love to "floor it", fit the D/V!

This is true, the standard bosch units are poor sealers and as such create boost leak on their own when the car is driven hard, just fitting say a billet alloy piston recirc you will notice a great improvement in throttle response, pick up is so much quicker due to no leak back into the intake side! As for the D/V baileys DV26 EVO dual piston, fantastic D/V for the 406, this is my second aftermarket for the 406 and I'm glad I upgraded to it!
