Has anyone checked the exhaust flexible pipe on the down pipe from the manifod as these can leak. They are difficult to see as well!

Try getting someone to partly block the exhaust with a handfull of rag, this will increase the noise if it is blowing.
Is that tapping noise realy from the cam cover? That's where I thought mine was from when the bottom pulley failed.
Does it go away or get quieter when the revs increase? Check for signs of metal filings round the pulley, In the end I quickly removed the alternator drive belt and the noise disapeared, then I knew it was the pulley.

sluggish with a blowing noise ,sounds like a split in the boost pipe out of the turbo.
