Hey. I had a brainwave. Instead of a superchip for now, I want to get an intercooler for my beast. Is a new intercooler all I need to bring it up to 110hp? Or do I have to get the ecu done and stuff??

you need:
engine harness
engine ecu
turbo
turbo solenoid
pipework
intercooler
camshaft
and depending on what fuel system you have, possibly:
fuel tank
fuel lines
HP pump
LP pump
body harness
fuel cooler
common rail
injectors
fuel pipes
fuel filter housing
still interested????

I know, steal a 110 the same colour, swap the plates over and set fire to your old one!

I think I'd stick with the chip! I've bought one from TDi Tuning and it claims to bring a 90 to 110. I'll be fitting it in the spring so I'll let you know how it goes.

ya thanks for the advice. looks like i wont be doing that. Just a thought: what would happen if i stuck an intercooler in anyway?
Also. Ill be gettin the remap done. it'll bring it up to 120bhp. Just thought that if i could bring it up to 110 before hand I'd be on the way to 140 hp.
Anyway as all us HDI owners know its not the hp but the torque that matters. and theres plenty of that to go around in both engines

Just adding an intercooler to a 90 diesel does nothing unless the fuel map is changed. It's the amount of diesel being burnt that makes the performance, not the temperature of the charge, to an extent. It's no good trying to increase the Oxygen content if there's no fuel to match it. The 110's got an IC because it burns more fuel, making the charge air hotter, needing to be cooled to maintain even performance on hot days etc.
In fact, too cold a charge air on a diesel knocks the performance as it 'quenches' the flame front. Apparently 15deg C is the ideal whereas your Jap tuners will use ice, CO2, etc for the coldest inlet evAr.
