Does the HPi have a MAF Sensor?

Right, everyone's on about MAF sensors, in fact they seem to be a common theme throughout about 90% of our recent threads. Now I reckon this hesitation and lack of pull at low revs is a symptom that's familiar to me too, so was wondering if mine has a MAF sensor, and if it has where is the bloody thing so that I can give it a clean?

I'll get a photo of my engine bay up later and you knowledgeable types can lend me the benefit of your expertise by adding some pointy things....

Christ knows, can you find it on Service Box and work backwards?

Who knows what they'll call it though. last week I bought a little bit of plastic interior trim from the stealer, pugs description was "plug towball"

if you go on service box and look in air filter for your car all the piping should
come up and it should be part of that :|

That's the Throttle Control.

Just been reading a Shitroen forum, (C5 has the same engine) and found this...
Looks suspiciously like something to do with the Air Flow Sensor (or is it an MAP sensor?).
These engines have a MAP sensor, its located in the pipe at the brake servo though.
So now what the hell is a MAP sensor? is that something to do with geography?

Your engine doesn't have an air flow meter - it senses manifold pressure (a MAP sensor) it measures absolute pressure and the ECU converts this into an air volume.

They are small sensors, screwed into the inlet manifold somewhere.

Dai - what's your throttle action like? only that throttle cable route looks a bit restictive to free movement - my HDi cable takes a similar route but isn't held back against th bulkhead like yours. Maybe the throttle cable is 'jerky' resulting in your 'miss-fire' ?

The throttle's pretty smooth actually, and the hesitation occurs if you accelerate with the cruise too, so I don't think it's the throttle cable. :?

So do you reckon this MAP sensor could do with a clean if I can find it, or is it better to leave well alone?
