Hi all , Im a 406 2.1 TD Owner from the sunny island of MAlta.

I was wondering if I could install a dump valve on a diesel 406 engine ??

Any suggestions would be welcome as I buoght this car 2 years ago and it was a total wreck (ex-Taxi) and have been fixing stuff ever since !!!!! , its got like 232,000 kms on the clock however I could do 190 km/hour easily on our free ways. Is this normal, should it be faster then that ?!?!

Stuff I changed :
Air Conditioner Compressor
Alternator
Hydraulic Clutch
Diesel Pump (reconditioned due to leak)
Link Rods (front and back)
Glow Plugs
lots of tensioner wheels (4 or 5)

I will be installing a k&n filter tonight and a new exhaust on Saturday, would love to have the dump valve though !! :)

Thanks for the help.

Hello :cheesy:

Dump valves are not easy on diesels - since you don't have a throttle body and a vacuum you need something to tell the dump valve to open each time you throttle off, I don't even know how the standard system works

Someone developed one for the 306 d turbo so may be worth starting there first?

i think thats not far off the top end for it ( roughly 120mph ish ) which isnt bad considering the mileage 8)
