New pads and disc's fitted to the Rapier yesterday -wow what a difference i'm now able to stop
To change the pads is sooo easy ,a little tip- run a flat file across the ends af the pads they will slide real easy.
The hardest bit was trying to undo the carrier -a 55 tx - couldn't get a breaker bar in there it must have been done up by a gorilla
The old pads had worn down to about 1mm ,so i got good value for money on those

I am just about to do all this tomorrow. I have the torx bit but I keep reading about the bolts being tighter than my mate Jiohn (I.e very tight!) So I hope I can get them undone. As long as I can get a lump hammer in there to hit the spanner then hopefully it will be ok.

Sounds like a good way to round them off (out?), I have a couple of feet of steel tubing I use in that sort of situation.

To change the pads is real easy .Its the disc's that have the tight bolts & yeah its a very tight squeeze to get the tx bolts undone with a breaker bar,much better to use an air powered imact drill,
or if the discs only have a small lip on them, leave 'em on & grind the lip off

For anyone who cares!:

I just finished this job yesterday and the large torx screws where a piece of cake to get off. If you turn the wheel to full lock, then a breaker bar fits perfectly. The bit I had trouble with was removing the small torx screws which hold the brake disc onto the hub!
The previous owner, garage, had obviously wanted to change the discs but found that the torx screws were too tight and had managed to round them off to mush!! An hour and half later I had drilled out both torx screws on one side and then I spent 20 minutes changing everything all over. The other side was better, just bloody tight, but managed to get them off. I then used one of those good screws from there to hold the other disc on which now had no screws!

I coated them all up in copper grease and did them up just slightly tight so hopefully next time it wont be such a mission.
