Air Con 406

it loses gas over a short period, the leak is coming from the left hand side of the rad (as you look at the car fron the front). Its a ali pipe with a clamp plate. I have removed the camp plate 10mm nut and slide that down the pipe. But i cant pull the pipe from the block!!!

any ideas

Sounds as though the pipe will need replacing. Apparently it's a common fault after they get to a certain age; the rot sets in.
Several folk here have had the same problem.

Hi gaz,had a similar problem when i changed the condensor on my X reg 110. There
are 2 pipes on that side and a pressure sensor any one of them can leak. As i was removing
the condensor i probably had more room than you to get at them.Whatever you do dont
drive anything between the mating surfaces to force them apart. What i did was grip the
flange with mole grips (lined with rubber or a cloth better still) and just wiggled gently while
pulling, the pipes that go into the condensor have small o ring seals on the end and these
seem to perish and stick
