ive just got a 406 on a 1999 plate T reg.
its the 1.8 lx.....
now im after help lol..................
its failed on the catalyst test the fail parts are....
1..fast idle speed
2..Lambda@2229rpm=1.09 fail 0.97(min) 1.03(max)
3..second fast idle test..

i dont know if anyone can help me but im thinking i can just replace the lambda maybe as the exhaust is only about a year & half old as its very new looking.and the guy i bought car from said it was not that old..lol

also ive got to replace the rear drop links then its ready for its mot..........so can anyone help me with some info please..many thanks

You could try changing it but did the garage have an opinion on
what was causing it ??? the drop links i believe are quite easy to
do and not too expensive , plenty on ebay

hello and thanks for the reply.well .....yes they did at peugeot they think the exhaust thats on by kwick fit is crap and will give out the readings that ive posted.lol.......but kwik fit think it could be 101 things...the exhaust is still under the kwick fit cover as only a year old.....as i took it to them both today...mind the mot guy told me to get it red hot before mot and then stick it in as it should pass....so did the guy at peugeot plus he gave me this injector for free stuff to put in before mot..im a bit fed up with it now to be honest as im no where near forward.lol

i forgot they also said at kwik fit that the lambda is fine.lol

Make sure the air filter is clean and new, thrash it, get it really hot, the do a re-test ...lol.
