Hello,
Just so I know at what point to start worrying - what water & oil temperatures are considered usual for the HDi (110)
Many thanks for any opinions.

Pointing straight up - temp doesn't go much above 90, oil sometimes creeps up to the second division above 90 (

140-90=50/3= 16.6666666, which would make it 106.66666666 stupid gauge)

My tempgauge points directlyto the number 9 of "90".
I don't have an oil temp gauge

but I do know that engine oils' ideal running temp is between 90 and 105 deg C (motorways).

Water should run between 85 and 90ish depending on what stat installed. Oil around 105 depending on load and quality of oil.

Umm, you're looking like the odd one out here, what does it get to when you're stuck in traffic?

it goes up to 90 an then cools back down 70. when i asked the main dealer he said that it was correct because i got one of the very first hdi's ( ie 1999).

There isnt a stat rated at 70C, usually 85C and that's the temp which should be maintained (other than heavy load or very hot day). Either your temp gauge is incorrect or the stat is missing

or jammed open.
