Random knocking from front offside

Hi Everyone :)

I've got a knocking noise coming from the front offside, it can happen when I'm driving straight or making a turn in either direction; it's always just a single knock.
No real rhyme or reason but it does appear to be happening more often now.
I've replaced the antirollbar bushes and drop links which cured the consistent clonking on making a turn but I can't get to the bottom of this one :?
There is no free play when I jack up the wheel and rock it about, I think the bottom engine mount is ok having been crawling under the car this weekend sorting out other problems, all that's left is the wishbone or shock/spring. Track rod arm hasn't got any obvious play in it. I'm a bit flummoxed now!
Thanks for any help chaps! :)

On a side note, I got the rear top links fitted and fixed the sidelights on Saturday! I couldn't believe how much free play there was in the back wheels before I did it! *Note to self; don't put jobs off for too long, funny how a looming MOT kicks your arse into gear!*

Top mount?

I dunno really....if your MOT place does free re-tests why not get it in 3 weeks early and let them tell you if anything is wrong? it will either pass (most likely) or fail and you will still have time to get it fixed before it expires :D

I swapped the top mount with the flooded out 1.8's before it went to car heaven, the rubber bush was totally disintegrated!

I've left it a little late to be honest, the MOT runs out on Friday. They don't road test them so I should be ok touch wood!!!! It's not as if the car is unsafe to drive (until whatever is knocking fails completely!), it's a niggling fault which I want to put right
