anyone know how many miles i should get to a tank full of fuel???
i got a 1999 d8 glx hdi 110.

Recently set my own personal best of 510 miles from 53 liters (i.e. 70-odd quid) in my '98 1.9TDi

Can't afford a full tank

Based upon 72 ltrs you will get 792 miles @ 50MPG and 634 miles @ 40MPG.

Oh, and if you can squeeze 72 ltrs in it will cost you £95.16 this week an probably £2,000.00 next week

I had about 850 out of a tank before. took about 75 litres to fill it. I reckon i could have got about 900 if i was little more careful.

this was all long distance, running up and down the country thou.

according to the owners book i got an 85 litre tank??
does that sound right??

My handbook says 70ltrs

Think the most I've fit in a D8 is about 77 litres and I was utterly panicking about running it dry before getting to the pump

Best I've managed is about 450 miles in my V6 due to a lack of motorway miles (theoretically on a long run I should be able to knock 600), but I've had well over 700 in the 2.0 turbo at times. Both petrol engines

Well I have just gone past the half way mark on my D9 HDi 90 GLX and have covered 565 miles and that is all urban travel to work

Reckon I get 49mpg all in since I have had it.

that sound about right, i just looked and i've used a quarter of a tank and its saying 384 miles so far.

I used to get about 550 to 600 on half a tank. the first half of the tank seems to be bigger than the second!

85 litres?!?! the 406 tank is 70 + a few litres in the filler neck. if you have 85 you must have some special weird tank!

I'm getting about 500 regularly which is about 33mpg. Not that bad for a petrol on combined cycle. I always fill up then drive 'till empty, a tankfull lasts me about a fortnight. 69 litles of unleaded cost me £82.05 today

Won't be long 'till the £100 fill up

I get about 450 miles out of a full tank on commuting and short runs. 70 litres is about a full tank. Mines a petrol btw. I don't drive like a grandpa either.

Not sure what I get but much less than everyone else; my average speed is below 25 mph (bluddy roadworks, today I heard the ones in town here will be there 'til Autumn so maybe there's a chance they'll get to the bits that actually need repairing )

The fuel gauge definately drops on the rapid when you've gone past half and near the quarter mark.

I think the "botom half" of the gauge relates to about 6 gallons and the "top half" about 9 gallons.
