just got home after leaving dence black smoke behind me all the way after i herd a loud bang when on the m/way doing 70 ish may be 100 ish and totaly lost power thinking that iv blowen the turbo on my 110 hdi td but only to find that the large pipe that comes from the bottom of the rad then joins the plastic pipe that feeds the turbo air had a ucking big hole in it ! but what i want to know is what caused it to do that ? and i have taped it up for now and alls well again.

Lot of pressure in those pipes, I think all the expansiona nd contraction over time coupled with rubber getting less pliant with age just weakens them. Get it replaced ASAP.

wont last !!!! your right it lasted about 2 miles and i thought some one had let off a whistling fire work ! realy i did untill i put my foot down again and noticed i could play a tune and got a few strange looks as well, anyway might try the salvage yard first b4 i go and get ripped off at the pug centre.
