I have never fitted one of these engines in a coupe. My only pug was a 205 which was an Mi16 on twin 45 webber carbs and a gti 6 box to go with it 270bhp and the same amount of torque on a rolling road
I would imagine on the coupe you you would have no problems as it effect the turning circle on a 205.
What a great idea
Fitting 2.0 gt1 6 with 167bhp would go down a treat a few subtle mods and few thousand pounds more and you could add 100bhp to that like i did.
I would put the gti 6 box in as it was designed for that engine. The 2.0 box is used in the V6 and is not up to the job as mine broke when i had my 406 coupe V6
under warranty so i was lucky. Would also suggest uprating the handling as i think they are terrible. Cant believe peugeot over looked this as well as the gearbox I had mine from new back in 1999. And i felt it was one of the worst cars i had owned and did not live up to my expectations.
To me and expensive peugeot £30k
still cant believe i paid that for a peugeot. With a lot of compromises to sum it up.
Looking back wish i had gone for a second hand bmw 330ci Club sport. As it would do everything the 406 could not do. Apart from the looks the 406 coupe wins hands down on that
