This is a "R" 97.I spoke to 2 Peugeot dealers,Was informed with this mileage very unlikely to be eating it's own oil,so i promptly ordered the 3 temp sensors and fitted them to no avail. Please where would i look next without incurring vast amounts of cash leaving my pockets quicker than this government can take,(they can take it usually quicker than anybody)..As you know these dearly beloved old girls are nice (when running properly)but are not worth a fortune, approx £600 if lucky,I've got another £150 to spend on her and after that i will break it rather than keep throwing vast amounts of cash at it.Please HHHHHEEEEELLLLLPPPP,i'm lost now.If Peugeot didnt want so much per hour i'de get them to do it.gggrrrr.What is and where is the potentiometer,I bought a braynes manual and that tells you nothing, waste of money that was !..the pics have been taken so close you cant see where anything is located, pics dont tell you what vehicle the pics came from. All that i found out lately is if it is the potentiometer, and i play with it then i still have to take it to the stealers,to get it recalibrated !Thanks in anticipation of your help men (and girls of course).. Ray

Gimme a clue, what's wrong with it? The accelerator pot is mounted to the right of the air filter, you will see a cable going from it back towards the accelerator pedal.

It's that possessed 2.1td, accellerates for no reason. This be the thread.

I think the answer is don't go to Pug. Take it to someone who knows what they're doing (hopefully), someone with a big Bosch sign outside. Where are you smudger? Maybe someone can recommend somewhere. Hopefully then you'll know if it's worth spending the 150 or it's sledgehammer time.

It does seem a very unusual fault but I bow to Peugeot's ability to diagnose it without seeing it, House MD style.
