Last 2 mornigns when its been a bit chilly the old girl has been a little more sluggish than normal, not deperately bad but just a second or so more winfing than normal to get it up and running.

Does anyone have any figures that i can use to test the glowplugs to see if they are all up to scratch?

Im sure its a resistance measurement?

Thanks
COlin

Have had same problem when reaaaaaaly cold since buying 1998 2.1td back in Dec 2001. Either waited for the temp to warm up OR switched ignition on and when glow plugs light goes out, switch off and then straight back on again; this way the glow plugs start off warm and then are hotter when starter motor is fired up.
Have fitted new glow plugs and new battery but made no difference, so would be very interested to hear your replies.

Could be a glow plug relay. Make sure all of the plugs get switched on... just check with a multi meter.

Locoboy, I think the resistance will be really high if you have a dud glow plug.

First things is to check the supply as captian jack said. IF thats ok you'll want to look at each plug.

glow plugs are normally about 1/2 ohms. Their hard to measure the resistance thou as there are four in parallel, really you need to disconnect the bus bar to measure each ones resistance.
