I stalled and found a lack in power the other day. the lights all came on and the diagnostics said Fuel pump relay fault.

so I reset the ECU and it was fine. till yesterday when the diagnosics said High pressure sensor problem. I lifted the bonnet and reved the engine, and the pump started to make a wonderful knock bang noise then ran okay for a bit.

Has anyone got a High pressure fuel pump and if so how much I havent got the £1000 for a brand new one so need second hand its the Bosh one in the 2.0 Hdi engine,

Please help I cant do without a car at christmas.

For a Pickarsole? Don't think so. Plenty of breakers out there, Yellow Pages (yell.com), or just stick "peugeot breakers" in Google. If you must use ebay stick "breaking 406" as your search term.

The only thing is I'm not sure how specific they need to be. :(

Found one on ebay but I cant guarentee its good, I also know the local scrappy is scrapping a 406 but most scrapyards wont allow for parts to be removed from the timing belt config it makes it hard for them to sell the engine on. infact many local scrapyards wont even alow you to remove the altnator.

I have to ring the one who got a 110 BHP one in today to see if he is stripping it and how much but I could do with one ASAP as i have no other trnsport until next week, and the 406 has just swallowed all my other cash new disks pads and shoes all round Mass airflow meter Fan belt belt pully, Tensioner as well as the tax last month seat belt and the full tank of fuel i put in the day it went wrong.

anyway cheers for the comments. I will have to try and get it fixed somhow by the end of the weekend or I will lose about £300 worth of work this week and be so skint next week i wont be able to fix it.

Bugger :( I've got a similar problem getting hold of backplates for the back of my D8, they want to sell me the whole thing - stub axles, trailing arms etc. Try getting that lot through the post

Hope the cam belt went on that HDi... Hold on, what sort of wally wouldn't change the cam belt on an engine they get from the scrappies? :?

I think I'd be looking towards a warrented mileage complete engine as HP pump failure can lead to contamination of the piezo injectors (aparently) and give further trouble :|

I think you get the engine, the ecu and the keys from these places (like a written off 406 etc.)

I have found somone who deals in scrap pegs in Morpeth, not too far away, I am just trying towork out when i can get the time to strip the engine side off and set the timing up with a nw timing belt. and i bet the injectors are gone as well.
