406 2000 90bhp clutch cost

my car is at around 130k on the original clutch, its started juddering and squeeking when i give it welly, how much am i looking at a replacement

i assume i dont have a dmf, so im lucky there

It varies from area to area.

I got 3 quotes from decent local garages and the local dealer came in cheapest at just under 400 quid :frown: . That's checking with each garage that they intended to do the job properly i.e. transmission dropped out, drained etc etc. 8 to 10 hours labour plus parts.

Whilst they've got the transmission out get them to inspect the lower engine mounting aswell.

There are places will do it loads cheaper but I can't risk the job being shite and the car being more likely to pack up... It's always a gamble I know but... <shrug>

And no the 90 doesn't have a DMF :)
52 HDI(90) 406 saloon. Sadly no longer owned, bless her she got near 200,000 miles and I had to sell her on, she was still going strong.

I had a clutch done on an HDI 90 2.0 Estate at 125k with the lower engine mount done for £400 incl. VAT from my local garage. That included a full drain and re-fill. :mrgreen:

ouch!

The clutch isnt that bad, a bit juddery in first and thats it really, as i only do motorways i will leave it a bit longer
