I usually buy this stuff, semi synthetic

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165581

As it if often buy one get one free and ive had no problems with it

However, when i type my reg number into the halfords site and castrol site it says i should be running fully synthetic, any suggestions

I have also purchased 'total' oil from pug as they chuck a free filter in for me :)

Look on the side of the container, A good spec oil should say A3/B3 on it.

I suspect the Halfords oil listed may only be A2/B2, it only reads....Part Synthetic, not semi Synthetic. It needs to be buy one get one free, at that price....expensive.

By the way, the oil container need not specify Diesel on it, semi synthetic A3/B3 oil is ok for either petrol or diesel.

I use 5w30 fully synthetic oil in my 406HDI, I get it at a special trade price.

I have used Millers semi synthetic for ten years in a 2.i and never used any oil; well, probably two or three litres in 100,000 miles but I have seen it said that you should use fully synthetic. :D
