What engine is this???

I'm looking to get back into a 406 as have had enough of smaller Pugs, fancy a coupe and saw one advertised close to my place for about the right price. The seller sent me some pictures and the engine bay looked like this...



which just didn't look right. Its supposed to be a 2.0l 16v engine but mooching around on ebay I saw this picture of a similar car with what looks like what I was expecting.



Can anyone dientify the first engine? Is it a different version of a 2.0 that I haven't seen before? Is it a transplanted engine perhaps?

Sorry for all the questions, hope someone with a brain knows the answers!!!

The engine in the top picture is the newer EW10 J4 which came out 1999 because i've got the same engine in my 406
