Ran out of diesel, now anti pollution message

Right, this happened once before & after putting the spare gallon of diesel in, I had this message & engine light on for a few miles, then it cleared.

This time, tank was showing a quarter when the car conked out. I suspected fuel, so put in the spare gallon & got restarted to the nearest pumps. This time the message & light are staying on for a couple of weeks now, so any ideas as what to look at? I have changed all the filters & battery after that gave up ( left the car unconnected while I went to the next town for the battery, hoping it might clear the code, but it didn`t)
So........it happens after the fuel runs out then.....?? What do I have to clean,,,,,,,,,,,,

Do you know if yours has a FAP, (diesel particulate filter)?
If you're not sure, check if there's a '4HX' in the VIN no.

It hasn`t got `4HX` in the VIN, my manual say`s that`s for 2.2HDI only.........
Anti pollution codes read as brake pedal switch , I can see a white one & red one. I guess one is for the cruise control...
Other fault is accelerator pedal sensor, is this above the air filter housing? Do I just change these then, or will I need more programming?

I think the throttle position sensor error is a common occurence which doesn't seem to affect anything else. Try a search for it on here - needs to be reset to clear it, but it's probably not urgent.

Well, I took it to Auto Diesel Technics in Ulverston, Cumbria & it came up with Glow Plug Solenoid.
The EML is still out after a few days drives.

It cost me £290 for the Cambelt, Alternator belt, Oil & Filter change, 2 Droplink Arms(bushes) & clearing the EMLight.
