If it is can anyone help as to how i slow her down a bit please?
Maybe its me but all my cars have idled around 650 rpm mark......but is it different with diesels?

Mine idles at 1125... 1175 first thing on a cold morning
Doesn't help that this speed produces the precise frequency needed to rattle every goddam thing fitted to the car...

Is that just since you 'tweaked' the pump, or was it always that fast?

The HDi idles the same wether cold or hot.
Sometimes it can idle high but if you wiggle the multiplug on the throttle position sensor it settles down again (this botch is courtesy of Puggy

)
