Dunno, can't read the label but I don't think GTX is semi synthetic, You nead either semi or fully synthetic.

Castrol GTX Diesel?

I'd have thought oil would be better...

It's mineral oil.
Miight be OK for a GTX, but definetly NOT an Exec :P

Joking aside, I used any cheap semi-synthetic stuff e.g. Comma etc. in my previous HDi 90. Ran it for 4 years, starting at 85,000 miles, put another 100k on with oil changes at 12,500 mile intervals. Engine sounded & went exactly the same at the end as the beginning. I guess it's not too fussy.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

ah cheers

i am glad i asked as it seemed too good to be true

I think the packaging is very misleading, no where does it say its mineral and it does say its suitable for modern diesels
