Tough throttle

Hello,

I noticed that on all of the '6's I've driven, the gas pedal is quite difficult to press down, especially all the way to the floor. When driving on the motorway and keeping the foot on the pedal, it tends to lift my foot while cruising and dropping in speed.

So, I am wondering if there's a way to make the pedal lighter? I had a look at the throttle pot to see if I could loosen the spring but it's a concealed unit and I don't want to try taking it apart without asking here first :D

Cheers

CJ

My throttle is super-light, always has been.

One thing I did notice though is that the cable is supposed to be clipped along the bulkhead but that gives it a rather awkward route so mine just hangs down near the inlet manifold and it takes a much smoother route now.

Mine have been fairly light too. Perhaps you need a new accelerator cable?

Hm, not sure. It seemed the same on my 2.1TD and other '6's I've test driven.

I tried relocating the cable around the engine and it did help, so I think I may try doing this more permanently.

In the mean time, other suggestions are welcome :)
