whats this rattle?

I can hear what sounds like a broken baffle on the exhaust so took it down to Charlie Browns to get it sorted. They got it on the ramp and came back to say there's nothing wrong with it and they couldnt hear anything!
I've just had a look myself and it seems to be coming from the manifold

Now I dont know a great deal about engines, but I'm pretty sure there's no baffles in the manifold, so does anyone have any idea what it's likely to be?
Cheers

Have you looked under the car & checked all the plastic liners & the plastic battery cover, engine cover etc.
I mention because I had the same & these were the cause.

The spring loaded bolts that join the exhaust manifold to the downpipe/cat is my bet. Not easy to get to,so they tend not to be put back right when removed.

That would be my guess too.
I had to refit a new exhaust on a Corsa last week, rattling like mad, Quickfit alledgedly said there was nothing wrong with it
It was hitting the rear bumper and the rear axle, the middle clamp was fitted with the bolts hitting the rear axle, very plain to see...idiots

Agreed, and they are a complete PITA to get to.
I found that the springs lose their tension; you can get a replacement kit from a motor factors or space them out with a load of washers as I did.

Thanx for all the advice, its going in this morning for a full s/s exhaust with a 'cat bypass pipe', I think thats what its called.

So I'll ask them to have a look at those tension springs on the manifold.

Got the S/S system fitted and got them to check the those spring tensioners, apparently it doesnt have any? so with a new exhaust and no tensioners am I right in thinking that the only thing that can rattle now is the cat?
I've just priced one up from them and they can do me a 100 cell sports cat for £150. Would one of these pass the emmissions test.
I have also read on here (not sure where) about the dreaded 'manifold rattle' tried searching but have had no luck finding anything. Any ideas?
Cheers

I hope the new cat clears it. I've no idea about the sports cat, although I thought that was the point

Are the suppliers not able to tell you?
