while bleeding the rear brakes the other day i noticed the anti roll bar bushes looked bit worn so decided before the mot i'd sort them out got the new ones cheap enough, so this morning i set about doing them, did the n/s bit of a pain with the rust and rounded nut but i sorted it without to many issues, then came round to the o/s

how the hell do you get those off the nut nearest the rear of the car doesn't look to bad but i can't even see a thread on the other one and it sits flush against the fuel filler neck any help would be great cus me confused now (that doesn't take much

)

You have to drop the tank/filler a bit. Teamy knows how to do this job!
Mine passed it's MOT like yours.

tbh they haven't been knocking but look like there about to fall out at any time(all broke up) , got the one nut off not tried the hidden one yet, i hope its been a bit better protected as all the others had to be chiesled off, why is nothing simple on 406's it seems every job i need to do i have to move something else

, i notice they even manage to put a 1/4" extra in the floor pan rite at the side of the anti roll bar nuts so you cant even get a good straight hit at them with or get a nut splitter on, oreven some good grips

It's a while since I did the job but I sprayed it all with gallons of WD40 before I started, and you're right it was that one bolt which was a sod to get access to.
As Welly says I had to drop the fuel tank to get access to it, this involved removing the filler hose and the vent hose.
Forgive me if I'm a bit vague, it was over a year ago and I was following haynes and making it up as I went along
