I was amazed when my first full tank went in excess of 800 miles before the light came on, bearing in mind i'd come from a 306 DT with a 59 litre tank which mangaged just over 550 to a tank.
my own personal best in the 406 HDi was 910 miles and the range gauge was showing ---- miles so it was pretty much on fumes.
My latest 306 seems to be a bit better than the old one i've had a couple of 600 miles to as tank from it (also a DT)

I have owned a 406 2.0 HDi 110 since 2008.

I rarely fill up before completing 1000 miles and several times I have managed to get over 1200.

This was what I achieved on our annual north of Scotland trip in the first one I had. 1000 miles + was fairly easily obtainable.
