Hi,

I have a unabused 2.0 Turbo (Petrol), and have just recently noticed a ticking sound coming from the engine, and also a sound that i can describe as going 'whup, whup, whup etc..' not massivley noisy, but you can hear them over the engine when idling. I am hoping to sell on and worried that potential customers will be put off (which is to be expected).

cheers

The 'whup' noise could be coming from the aux belt or something on it, possibly the tensioner

As for the ticking... Could be anything. The method I use to locate noises is to turn one ear to the car, put an earplug in the other if possible, and wave your hand slowly over various bits until the sound gets muffled. good luck.

Run it without the aux belt & see if the noises disappear.
