I'm a tool

After deciding to tackle the EGR at the weekend, i took apart the valve at the manifold which was held on with two bolts and two screws.

It was manky dirty and i sprayed degreaser all over it and let it sit. I got a lot of the dirt off and it was in better shape going back on.

However, i broke the gasket and now i can feel a blow of air coming out of the manifold. This is slightly affecting performance and fuel economy is strange. I understand that i need to get a new gasket but i don't know where to begin telling the main stealer which one i need.

What i need is:
1) A part no. for the gasket on the manifold that links the EGR to the exhaust ( I hope my description is accurate)
2) Some tips on how to properly clean my EGR because i'd like to do it properly when i'm replacing the gasket

Thanks
Eoin

Sh!t happens :| Umm, I can't find a diagram in Service Box, the turbo diagram just says "turbo" with the egr attached, the exhaust only has the egr for the 2.2 on it and the inlet just shows the inlet with gaskets :?

Do what I do - take it there, get a mechanic out, point at the offending article and say "ug" :cheesy:

Not certain about this, but I think you want 000016282N Circuit Seal, which is £2.21 in the UK.

This is the gasket between the egr valve & the manifold, - as Steve says, Servicebox only lists 'RGE' components for the 2.2, but does have 'Gas Recycling Circuit' for a variety of models. There are two versions of DW10TD, but both seem to have the same gasket.

Cheers. Must have a look for that. I still have the problem of a smoking exhaust! Will a new EGR valve like what welly replaced do the trick??
