Custom Exhaust

Post by oobumblebeeoo »

I never realised, but I bought a Stainless Steel back box from Essex Racing (ESRT19 Rage) It's a 2" Fitment into a 6" Box... the end drops to around 4"

Anyway, you try fitting one... Discovered that like the centre pipe, the backbox also has one of these gay french flange fitments... the new box is just a pipe with nothing bracket wise welded onto it!!

Nobody wants to touch it or fit it. Phoned Essex Racing and they said they supply no brackets, you have to weld stuff on yourself.
I asked how they did it and they said they cut the existing flange off the standard back box and weld it onto the new one.

I will let you know how it goes tonight, a few of my mates are welders and owe me favours 8)

The hangers won't be right either so you will have to play around with them to get the fit right. May end up being a bit of a nightmare, but hope all goes well for you.
