air intake on sri turbo

the air intake pipe on my sri turbo seems to compress itself cutting off the air supply to the throttle body, and when i take the pipe off, the car goes a lot better, but not what i think it should be like, any ideas as to why this might happen, and would this happen if the turbo is seized, also can anyone tell me where to find the wastegate on this car, cheers

sorry mate, but it does sounds like your turbo's seized :(

The wastegate's vacuum operated from the valve that's between the upper cambelt cover and the wing (little black thing with a wire and 3 pipes going into it). If the wastegate were jammed though, you'd either have no boost or the engine management light would be lit as a result of over-boost condition, and the car would be in limp-home mode, but the flex pipe to the intercooler wouldn't be compressing in either scenario

Check out the knowledge base forum - there's howtos in there for removing and reconditioning turbos

I don't know enough to know what else will fit on, other than one from another 406 2.0 turbo or Citroen Xantia Activa (same engine).
