Hi Martyn,
I found that the turbo is a Garrett T25 which is also used on Saab's (95, or 2000, I can't remember). When I asked Niz to build me a turbo as mine seized, we used a core off a Saab (flea bay) but had to use the compressor housing and exhaust housing off the 406 turbo as each car has a different in and out pipe system as well as the wastegate. This worked out much cheaper then £1300 for a new turbo from Pug or £5-800 from TurboTechnics for a recon unit!
One unforeseen problem was the coolant fitting on the Saab had a larger thread, so we spent a panicked afternoon going to Saab and Pug garages trying to find a hose with the correct attachment on. In the end we found a converter from a hydraulic manufacturer which he gave us for the price of a cup of coffee!
One other solution is the engine of the sri is the same as the turbo xantia, so I'm guessing a turbo from that will have the same housings on, just not sure about the exhaust part.
Hope this helps

The model's the Xantia
Activa and is pretty much just a tubby in different bodywork with those suspension sphere things littered around the place

thanks for all the advice guys, I managed to find one on ebay for £80 in excellent condition off a 406 tubby, and spent a day dropping the subframe off to do it. superb car when working right lol
