none runner

Hi guy`s, can i pick evryone`s brains, pug 406 hdi 90, w reg fault code comes up p1402 egr short curcuit, scanner used peugeot planet 2000,
changed egr valve for new item, cleared fault code but comes back.
everything else checks out, but will not start. any ideas ?

Hi there. I seem to recall the egr doesn't have any electrical connections and is run off one of the vacuum solenoids on the bulkhead. You could try swapping these about...

Gday steve, i have fitted a new egr valve, it does have a two wire plug, but as you say it should not stop the engine from running,
we have tried easy start, and nothing, not even a hiccup,

sounds like a silly thing to suggest, but is the car getting fuel?
had this prob on a 306 td and it turned out to be the stop solenoid, although i think the hdi's have a fuse that controls this, worth checking tho

Hi. fuel pressure fine, scanned two hdi 90`s printed out both results everything the same, this one beggers belief.
there is just no hint at anything wrong,

sounds like the tdc sensor wiring.....check where it goes into plug as theyre bad for chafing and the outer casing staying on but no contact on the plug itself. had a friend change a clutch in one and put the plug for temp sensor on to the tdc sensor by mistake as they both fit, just different colours, oh how i laughed at him.....
