Most likely, or just a fuse/relay. The immobiliser just cuts the ignition, not the starter

Are you 100% sure the battery is ok Dave?
Same thing happened to me last Friday, stranded in Wickes carpark. Turned the key, nothing. Immobiliser was playing silly buggers so I disconnected & reconnected the battery & that started working but still no crank.
Got a jump start from the RAC  & replaced battery, all fine now :D

it was the starter.on the old starter i put a bridge wire on and nothing just a very fast clicking with sparks.i even bought a second hand ignition barrrel and key also igntion switch swapped them over and the tramsmitter the black thing that goes arond the barrel.as i have a chip in the key.replaced starter motor
just han it cranking but not firing so put my original ignion barrel back on and original transmitter back on and it fired right away
now im left woth a key and igntion barrel i dont need.i was thinking as my orginal key wont remote central lock as the switch board inside is nacked i mean toally broken and cant solder o new switch in can the key i bought from the scrappy be programmed so it will central lock if i swap the the switch board over on my key
but happy the car now starts
cheers dave
