as i dont have a manual, it only comes on randomly and goes out quick when driving, i thought maybe break wear sensor, but im not sure what it is, looks like a long tray, with a shorter tray on top lol, cant really describe it

If it has wavy lines, it's the low coolant warning light.

Brake wear light is a circle with curved dashes at either side of the circle.

The only other that is anywhere near your description is the water in diesel light, but I doubt if that's it.

Put some water/antifreeze in your coolant tank.

The low coolant warning light is directly above the temperature gauge.

na its below the rev counter im pretty sure, i got a 97 sri turbo, that different?

is the coolant tank infront of the windscreen washer tank?

I'll put money on it being the low coolant light, especially if it flashes on when you're doing stuff (cornering, accelerating, braking).

Coolant tank is just behind the windscreen washer filler. DON'T open it when the engine's hot unless you want a fountain of scalding hot coolant to spray everywhere, and use thick waterproof gloves if you're opening it and the engine's warm.

Fill it near to the brim - the pressure cap will expel any excess

yh probably is, as long as theres not a bad reason why the coolants low, ie headgasket, but the cars ment to have had a new headgasket, also got a funny like groan sound when pulling away or using the clutch, but cant work out what it is, hope isnt the engine mounts, doesnt always do it, mainly when in 2nd and coming off the clutch i think

Same engine as mine. Check the bottom rad hose for leaks, the conrad push fitting rusts away . Is the rad sound? Check for leaks around the 'stat housing as well; the o-ring on the stat perishes pretty badly!



Needless to say mine was p1ssing coolant out from all of those areas

ill have a check at weekend, so is the coolant light under the rev counter on the sris then? as thats where the light is on mine

I can't remember where abouts it is but there's only one light that fits the description!
