how do i know if my 406 1999 d8 is a 90 or a 110 hdi ? is the power hike mechanical or electronic .. thanks mike .

Easiest way to tell is to see if it's got an intercooler, (110's have, 90's don't)...

Only from about 2001 for some reason. Mine never had the label.

As doggy said, look for the intercooler and it's large (3") diameter air hose running uppermost, front to back, between the battery and the engine.

Actually I'm sure the V5 states the BHP

Like Welly said look for the black pipe. Or open bonnet and look at the radiator to the right of this you should see the intercooler.

I always thought it odd you can't tell what flavour of HDi you're looking at....

As above, look for the intercooler alongside the radiator.

On the 90 the wastegate is mechanically controlled on the 110 it is controlled by the ECU

thanks for the info guys .. so mines a 110 then . hmmm lovly .

Thus you can have it remapped to 145

Like me Mine puts out around 150bhp uprated clutch and flywheel is must!!!!
