hi all, just bought my first 406. its a 53 2.0 hdi 90. car is running ok but iv noticed the solenoid on the bulkhead only has one pipe from the servo in-place, the other pipe is missing.the solenoid is sucking air were the missing pipe should be. where should this pipe go to ? should there also be a larger pipe on the bottom? any help is much appreciated.

There are 3 solenoids on my 110 Hdi the middle solenoid goes to the egr valve the left goes to the turbo vacuum and the right goes to the brake servo ( Ithink) If it is the middle solenoid you can cap it off
Try a forum search for more info ie for EGR Valve

I've a '02 plate 90 HDi, and you wont have the LH solenoid, its to open the wastegate on the 110 HP model, controlled by the ECU. You should have 2 threaded studs where this solenoid would go.

On mine, the right hand solenoid is behind the bracket for the EGR solenoid on mine. It looks at first glance that theres only one solenoid there. Have a look left of the solenoid and down at the back of the top of the engine, you'll see the EGR actuator, it looks a bit like a 50's flying saucer mounted onto a bigger tube/pipe. This will either have the other end of the pipe you seek, or a metal pipe stub to refit your missing pipe, hope this makes a little sense.

As said above look into EGR blanking on the site there will be a few pics that will offer you guidance.
