Oil filter question

Hi,
Just been out to tidy some crap out of the garage and noticed a wierd thing.
The filter I took off my HDi last week when oil-changing is a FRAM 9599 .
The replacement which has been on the car since thursday (and 800miles) is a FRAM 5566a
which I know is from the 1.9Td D8.
I'd bought two filters as the same filter also fits my wifes CityRover 1.4
which has an old Pug (205/309?)petrol engine.
I've checked the filters side by side and there are no visible difference between them physically
and fit perfectly on the engine.
Question is.......Is there a difference between the XU filter and the HDi filter?
Flow for intance or fineness of filtration perhaps? Or even price!
The car itself has run fine with no problems using Valvoline 'MAXLIFE' synthetic
which I also ran in the D8. I only noticed when chucking the boxes away.
(I know that the 405 1.9 air filter fits in a 406 1.9 with no problem and breathes better as the foam layer is missing.)
