DMF on way out how do i tell
Just a quicky how do you tell if the DMF is on its way out reaosn i ask is sometimes car seems really smooth at idle others its a bit rough and seems like there some movement but hardly noticeable

Well actually the when the dmf gets ready to spew it then it will make the idle lumpy because it's kinda out of balance as it rotates.
There was a guy on here ages ago that had one fail and I remember he said this but the next stage is the flywheel actually catching the bell housing
then you really must stop and get it sorted.
Other signs include churping/squeeking as you take up the drive on the clutch, slippage in 5th gear and a certain juddering as you pull away.
Before you get worried too much though have a good look at the rear lower engine mount because you can bet it's shagged and this can make the engine wobble.
