Welcome Stu!
I'm guessing you've disconnected the seat belt pre-tensioner which will show the Airbag light. (Ironically most of us have had to cure bad connections on that plug!

)
You'll have to disconnect the plug going to the airbag unit itself; I don't know of anyone that has done this but there have been posts in the past about removing the passenger airbag cover; that might be a good starting point.

The only reason I am asking is that the car seat I ve got does nt fit the 406 rear seats, but I think on the side of caution I am just gonna get a new seat that fits the rear seats better, that bugger is the car seat is a brttiax and is only a month old, but I can t be sure the airbags off

Isn't there a key switch in the centre console by the handbrake? Or is that only on D9s? Can't remember whether my D8 had it?
