hello mate s i have a 1997 peugeot 406 coupe 2.0l petrol,can i fit the 2.2l diesel engine? cheers

You mean the HDi 134? It is technically possible but you don't want to do it - you'll have to replace pretty much every wire in the car, as well as the usual things like almost everything under the bonnet

A 1.9TD or 2.1TD would be better candidates since you'd just need to replace the clutch mechanism, radiator, battery, engine harness, intercooler... But in any case, you'd be a lot better off buying the diesel then selling the petrol!

2.1td is the wrong box. It'd make an interesting project tho, spring rates are the same as the V6 on the saloon/estate so no real problems there. Driveshafts - same as the V6 (same gearbox +or-), different tank but there's no distinction between saloon/estate and coupe. Fit a Bosch pump on it and run it on chip oil!

Too right about the 2.2HDi, you'd need everything but the shell, suspension and interior (and that might give you problems with the air bags :shock: )
