I need to change the top strut bearing on the swivel hub.
My question is, if I was to jack the car up and compress the coil spring, and undo the torx screws on the top mount, and sperate the mount from the strut, could I change the bearing without taking the strut off the car (saving the need to separate drive shafts, remove brake calipers, undo ball joints, track rod ends nuts)?
Just trying to cut corners!!

Yes you can, I've done itdiesel.weasel wrote:could I change the bearing without taking the strut off the car

Just make sure you support the hub while the strut is detached!
