I decide to look for the socket to the diagnostic tool in my 406 , I read a lot of thread here but non provided picture. I followed some instructions and located a port beside my fuse box . Just wanna confirm if this is the diag tool socket ?????? see pix attached

That's it. You won't find any cheap diag tools that'll even fit it though

regardless of price wat type of diag tool would i need???. or is there an adapter that can convert that socket to a more cheaper diag socket ???

You would need the £200 Lexia pc interface with illegal Peugeot Planet software and the 30-pin adapter

where can you get such software from as i have the same on my 406 V6 R reg and am interested in getting diagnostics for it particularly peugeot planet

I'm not about to go spreading illegal software downloads via the forum. I THINK you can buy it legitimately from the dealers for about a grand.

You also need the Lexia interface (with 30-pin adapter if your diag socket looks like the above). Nothing else will work.

i have seen these 30 pin to 16 pin adaptors on ebay for 29.99 with £3.00 P&P i have been looking at these interfaces on ebay but there have been some bad remarks bout them been preloaded with spyware bots viruses and the like if i can get the interface with a good copy that is safe to use i dnt mind paying a lil less i have the n the software advertised for £400+ with a laptop right up2 £1k with renault interfaces included if you dnt want to post things like that on here PM me the info i am very intrested in obtaining the equipment as i have a few friends of mine i could make some dosh off could be useful around this time of year
