Hey chaps, Been away for a while as the old girl has been off the road ten months
Its a 98 executive turbo estate and had a seized turbo, the tax ran out and i used the wifes 206 till i couldnt take it anymore
Anyway thanks to Himbigchief for a replacement turbo im back on the road
I will be doing some more work to it shortly, heres a bit of a list of things to do / in progress
Rebuild my old turbo hybrid stylee
Fit the 205GTi camshaft ive got along with new cambelt etc while its apart.
Find a way to fit the quite large alloy intercooler.
Fit the Walbro uprated fuel pump i have.
Build myself a nice free flowing exhaust system
Outside the car i want to keep it fairly subtle, its aluminium silver so a fairly light tint on the rear and side glass, a loweing kit, de grilling , and swapping the bumper and side trims with nasty peeling chrome inserts for the plain black items but body coloured along with a laguna front splitter. No clue on wheels yet but will be squeazing on the largest rubber i can on the standard alloys maybe using some spacers to increase the track, cant get nice big wheels yet till i can get it garaged every night ( dodgy area i live in)
Anyway thats the plan so far will put upsome pics and a progress thread shortly

Woohoo! \o/ any chance of some pics as you go?
Not just the wheels attract the scumbags so I wouldn't bother too much with the cosmetics just yet either...

thanks guys, i used to have a d8 2.1 saloon, fantastic car, did over 80k miles a year when i was the taxi driver, i needed the estate for the extra room for the tribe, i got a 7 seat conversion off the bay a few weeks back it was from a d9 so had to find the right bolts (2 quid from scrap yard) i just want to get it up to scratch and minted up now.

Glad the turbo was good and you've got the car back on the road! Sounds like you're going for a similar style of modding to my 406...

HimBigChief - what make are your alloy wheels
I really wasn't considering lowering mine, but that looks great

really nice looking car mate
don't know if I could pull it off with mine though... it's the same colour as every other 406 taxi in Nottingham

Well its been a few months since the last post of this thread so i thought id just add a little progress report. We have moved house so all work on the car stopped for a while
But since we moved ive made some cosmetic changes to the near side front door while trying to negotiate the extremely narrow driveway gates

so im in the market for a passenger side front door in silver.
Engine wise ive still to fit the GTI cam, but will get that done along with the cambelt shortly.I fitted an induction kit and that sounds a little better than stock. Ive also joined the "front coil spring breaking" club
In the meantime im looking to get hold of another bottom end to rebuild to a good spec as mine is getting a little tired with 134K on the clock.
since fitting a working turbo its highlighted the handling and braking issues (ie, they are crap) My old D8 saloon handled really well but the estate is just garbage, i checked the curb weights of both cars and the estate is some 63 kilos heavier
Ive made the decision to keep at it as i need the seven seats, in the future il be getting something to use as a dedicated track day toy, but thats a while off yet, so i may as well put some effort into the estate.
So project Stealth Wagon lives on

Hell, I weigh 77 kilos, it really shouldn't affect your braking enough to notice. I fink you'd better investigate for stuck sliders etc.

I think the extra weight is only a handling thing that bothers me, probably not noticeable to the average driver but on the limit you can tell its there. the brakes are perfectly adequate for normal driving but the standard brakes are a bit pants for spirited driving, fading very quickly. a set of decent grooved discs and some good quality pads should help. i used to use greenstuff pads on the diesel.
