2.0l Petrol - tell me more!

Hi guys, see my thread in "pug pictures" about my new 406, it has the 2.0l petrol engine, which I gather isnt very common.
Why is this? Is it a bad engine? What sort of mpg can I expect? Whats the specs for this engine (bhp/torque etc)
Whats the common faults? (not that I expect there will be many after 15,000 miles...)

I didn't think they were uncommon
Have a squint on
Parkers for figures, I gather they suffer from the usual Pug foibles but nothing serious.

I havent seen many members with this engine in their car...and not many for sale either?

Steve, you shoulda got a 110 HDi!
MJB knows a lot about the engines i think though

my 97 lx estate has the 2.0 petrol engine in it no problems so far touch wood most of my probs have been with stepper motor and electrics plus lack of maintenance by the previous owner. Got it cheap so worth spending a bit on it for a heavy car its quite nippy ....Rob

A mate has this engine in a coupe and it has done nearley 300,000 miles, so yours has got a while to go yet.
