Front Brake Pads....Help Plz...

Hi,

Im going away for christmas, and typically something has gone wrong with the car...
I have gotta do the front pads, do i need torx bits (as i dont have any), or will normal sockets be ok???
Im leaving early in the morning, so ive gotta attempt to do the pads now just need to know if i need torx bits cause if so ill have to go and buy some.
