Hello 406 owners , well i must say for what i paid for my 1997 3.0 v6 executive it was a bargain. The quality of the drive, interior , performance is the best car i have ever had and i have had a few. However why o why o why is there no servicing manual on my v6 lump. Haynes seem not to publish
any sort of diy servicing and i really could do with some advice on it. Yes i have changed the oil and filter but when it comes to even finding the spark plugs I'm lost. There are little problems with the car like the right rear window will come down but not up using the drivers button. One other problem i have had
is when stopping for a short time say at a petrol station it does not like starting up again. I dread to think what a Peugeot garage would charge for a service.

Spark plugs... Take the engine cover off then remove the coil pack to get to the front 3 plugs. The rear 3 require the inlet manifold to be removed, which means you'll be needing a new manifold gasket from the dealers (only about a quid iirc)

The best I've found on the V6 is to get an 'Unofficial' copy of the Dealer CD from Ebay for £3 !! Currently item no.350301527729.
Lots of good diagrams and step-by-step instructions. Since so much of the other running gear is stock 406 anyway, you probably won't need a Haynes at £18!!
