Rear Suspention?

Is the rear suspention of my '98 406 estate indipentant or got a torsion bar?
I was always under the impression it was independant but looking under the rear wheel arch and it's not got rear springs?
It never bothered me but I noticed when I turn into a corner hard it feels as though the rear wheels are 'steering' the back end of the car, a bit like passive steering.
You turn in hard and it turns then all of a sudden it feels like the back wheels move a few degrees and you turn in even tighter

Anyone got any ideas?

It has independent suspension. The springs are located half way up the swing arms linking the hubs to a mount near the centre of the car
