here is the engine mount that is causing the noise on my car Image the noise sounded like a vibrating track belt on certain revs , today i tried sharp acceleration and decelleration and clearly there was a metal to metal clunk .

i opened the bonnet and reved the car up whist watching the mounting and could see the mount clearly moving in the bush right at back of photo hopefully i can get the bush or might have to replace the mount but its only a small part so cant see it costing much .

thanks to everyone who said it was the top mount in first place .

You need to buy the metal bit at the back which has three bolts through it into the body. It'll take a few days for the dealers to order it in, or you could try one from a breakers yard.

Replacement is a piece of cake and doesn't even need a jack to support the engine. Loosening the bolts on the bar next to it will let you reposition everything. Giving the engine a shove may help too :)

I had the same on my wife's PUG and bought a 2nd hand one. Most likely breaking the car so it can be bought from me if it will fit.
